3D printing of aluminium vacuum reduction
The aim of the project was to prepare design of a functional vacuum reduction for deviding gases used in special machinery.
After series of designs, the best was chosen, which is made from 1 piece.
It has very complicated internal rib shapes, which is manufaturable only via additive manufacturing.
For material severity, SLM technology was chosen, specifically CL 31AL.Save changes
The part maximum outer dimensions are 230 x 187 x 169 mm.
After printing the raw body, conventional technologies were used - milling, drilling, grinding, etc. to achieve high accuracy and complete air tightness between the faces.
